Welcome to my website
As a London Assembly Member it's my job to scrutinise the Mayor of London and his works.
I am now deputy chair of the Transport Committee and Labour Spokesperson for Transport. It's a fascinating area, especially being a South Londoner - we need to do to so much to improve transport in London and make getting about environmentally friendly!
Overground trains are overcrowded and West London roads congested, the air quality and noise levels in London are too poor and getting about is expensive. We have to reduce car use and increase the amount we all walk and cycle - our common environment and our personal health demand it!
At the moment the new Mayor hasn't yet set out a detailed vision for transport or the environment in London. What he has done is cancelled a raft of major projects such as extending the Croydon Tramlink, building a new Cross River Tram and the new Thames Gateway bridge. He's also come up with some very uncoordinated and crackpot ideas on the bus service - I hope that the Assembly's Transport Committee will be able to help contribute to the growing debate and controversies on Transport and bring some common sense and experience to the table.
My aim in this website is to give you a flavour of the projects I'm working on and to get your feedback on the work I'm doing.
Am I hitting the right issues? Is there something else you are concerned about? This is where I ask for you to tell me your truth, talk about your problems, tell me what you think about major transport issues in London and say what your aspirations are for our community in South London. Please do get in touch with your views.
London is a great and successful city and as a Labour Party member my goal is to ensure that all of us living in south London should share in that success.
